You will use a passive splitter if you want to divide one input pulse signal into two identical ones. We use it mostly in case we need to share the meter data with a third party. Typically, these are gas and waterworks, where one distributor from the hub will be used by the distributor and the other by us in Enectiva. The converter can then be connected to an M-Bus converter (eg Pad Pulse) or converted to wireless eg via WMBUS 169, Wmbus 868 etc.

Normally, these are gas and water where one output from the hub is used for distribution and the other for the Enectiva system.
